wishful thinking

today i looked up at the cobalt sky,

littered with castles of clouds,

illuminated by a sun that had taken so long to emerge,

after weeks of the sky weeping.

the grass below danced in the wind,

swaying their blades in tune to

the melodies blasted out by the sparrows.

i spotted the buds hiding behind the

wooden branches, their blossoms

like wings ready to fly away.

the sun hugged me, thawing the ice that had set around

my world, melting it,

making it trickle down in rivers of joy.

i looked at the sky,

and i thought of you, pictured you

admiring the post winter colours,

applauding the flowers which sprung up,

after being buried alive in meters of snow.

would you have done these things,

or was it just wishful thinking?

fall lovers

i held your hand for the first time, afraid you would hate the fuzz growing just above my knuckles.

me habría encantado estar tumbada, con los brazos cruzados bajo mi cabeza, observando ese cielo aventurero.
